The Story
ABOUT:
Beautiful movement to this Art Nouveau or Jugendstil period beauty. Crafted in 14k gold, the swirling ring face resembles a stylized flower design. It is set with old single cut, rose cut and old mine cut diamonds.
This one pops in a ringstack with the unique design and graceful curving lines that look so ornate on the finger. It appears as one single line with the bypass shank swirling into the ring face.
Found in the UK, no hallmarks remain but tests at 14k and it looks like it's topped in silver as was customary to set the diamonds in a white metal.
Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
It is a size 6 3/4. It weighs 2.1 grams.
The ring face is 16.6mm north south.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The diamonds read a little warm to gray, some from build up to the small openings behind. Also some natural inclusions, some frosty spots. One of the bezel set stones appears quite frosty all the way through but they aren't huge diamonds so they really just add a glint of sparkle. Some of the stones are rose cuts and others are old single cuts. One is recessed a bit more than the others and may be a replacement? Expected wear to the setting from age but none of the stones move. I always recommend gentler wear on pretty much all my antiques, especially those with many smaller stones set with the little bead prongs.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
