Antique Edwardian Art Deco 1.3 Carat Seven Stone Old Mine Cut Diamond Band Eye Clean Oval Center 18k Gold Platinum Prongs Tall Stacker

ABOUT:
So much to love about this antique seven stone old mine cut diamond band. The center stone is of course the star. Eye clean and oval in shape, it measures about 3/4 carat and is flanked by three smaller old mine cuts on each side. Total carat weight for the ring is about 1.3 carat.

I saw this one in the case early in the trip, couldn't stop thinking about it and had to go back and grab it the next day. The finger coverage with all the old cuts, the height allowing them to catch the light, I just love it...

The setting is crafted in 18k gold with platinum prongs, customary for the period to set the diamonds in a white metal. So it's perfect to stack with the slightly taller pronged setting. And it works in a mixed metal stack. Marked inside with the UK 18CT & PLAT stamp with an old serial number.

I am always looking for these old cut diamond bands because my wonderful customers always seem to be looking for them too : ). The seven stones provide a nice finger coverage and don't we all love an eye clean old cut!?

Also exciting to find the prongs are in good shape making this beauty ready for regular wear - another treat considering age. An all original antique!

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 7 3/4

The ring face is 7mm north south and the seven stones span about 21mm east west. It stands 6mm tall off the finger.

The center diamond is about 6.8x5.4mm and about .75 carat alone. The flanking are mostly each about 2.7 to 2.9mm with two a bit smaller at 2.5mm.

Exact carat weight is unknown as I would never remove the stones from the antique setting but estimates to around 1.3 carat total weight.

The ring weight is 3.4 grams.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The center stone is eye clean. Typical antique diamonds with the center and one next to it displaying a lovely slight warmth, one of the smallest at the end also reads a bit warm. The smaller diamonds with some natural inclusions but it's mostly a frosty fleck here or there, slightly to very slightly eye visible, a crystal or needle inclusion that can sometimes catch the light, some a bit more frost than others. No dark or glaring carbon spots. None of the stones are frosty all the way through or milky to the eye. One of the smaller stones second from the end has some nibbles to the girdle seen under magnification only. The side stones are elongated for the most part, little hand chiseled chunkers with two slightly more round in shape. Beautiful finger coverage. Sturdy setting ready for wear! I love this one!

Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely sparkle, but it also highlights the warmth and inclusions, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) These pieces were intended to be viewed by fireside and candlelight so they exude a beautiful antique sparkle. Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : ) There are no dark spots to the gold, it was just difficult to photograph because it is so shiny and mirrored that it reflects its surroundings including the green trees out the window.
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
