The Story

I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered one piece at a time from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:

Another very special antique diamond in its original setting. This has all the things I love about antique diamonds - a delicious pale yellow color, in the silver collet setting, and the extra chunky cut allowing the high crown to crop out of the ring face. A very nice clarity to the stone too for an oldie.

The wonderful stone arises from its original setting with wide ornate floral shoulder details leading up to a platform that has a small outline of black enamel, upon which rests the collet setting holding the diamond. Even with the chunky diamond, it is comfortable to wear with a smooth ring face with no prongs.

Found in France this is a Georgian to very early Victorian era piece. I think the setting behind the stone was possibly opened to allow the light to pass through, unless it was always fabricated this way. I wish I knew the stories it could tell but the joy of it is with the open back it is much easier to wear, clean etc.

Antique box is not included. Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.

MEASUREMENTS:
Size 5 3/4, a little over. Weighs 4.6 Grams.

Ring face is 8.9mm north to south. 5.7mm off the finger with the high crown of the chunky diamond.

Exact depth and thereby carat weight is unknown as I would never remove it from the setting but it is over a carat. It widens out an unknown amount in the collet setting which wraps up and around the edges of the stone.
It's about 6.3x6mm just measuring the visible part of the diamond in the setting, with the chunky cut calculating to about a carat, which means it is upward from there if we could see exactly how far the girdle extends. Super impactful with that glorious lofty crown.

IMPORTANT. CONDITION NOTES:

All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. Zero chips or cracks, nary a nick or nibble. The amazing stone is has a great clarity for an oldie. Eye clean to my eyes with just a few frosty speck inclusions that can catch the light to be very slightly eye visible if you are seeking it out. No dark carbon, no glaring inclusions or overall frostiness.

This one has a wonderful pale yellow color that lights up in the sun. We antique jewelry addicts seek out stones like these, having been cut during the antique period when the conflict free mines in operation produced warmer rough. In my opinion, it has the perfect amount of patina to the shoulders and ring face as well, with darkness in the recesses to make the silver settings and the shoulder detail stand out. I noticed when I was measuring it that the stone can move up and down just slightly, and one edge of the girdle is visible under strong magnification where the collet has worn back, but it is surrounded on the other three sides. This would be something to keep an eye on over time. Swoonworthy! A special stone.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Please feel free watch @mouseshouseantiques on Instagram for inventory drops, sneak peaks and previews! And check out my website www.MousesHouseAntiques.com as I can add more pics there so you can get extra looks : )

All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).

Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
