Antique Blue OPAL 14k Rosy Gold Bezel Set Earrings with Diamond Accents Lever Back Dormeuse Dangle

I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!

ABOUT:
Love finding opals with such a beautiful blue color and glow, these with swirling flecks of green. Simple and elegant in the bezel settings. Crafted in rosy 14k gold, these have easy to wear ear wires inserted from the front with lever backs that secure them closed at the back.

They bear the hallmarks for 14k gold from the Astro Hungarian assay offices for gold items produced between 1872 and 1922 so that helps us accurately date them.

Found in England.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

They measure about 17.3mm top to bottom by 8.6mm at the widest.
They weigh 2.6g combined.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
A few nicks to the opals seen more under magnification as they have a gorgeous sheen and polish and the most amazing color overall.
While the settings are sturdy and ready to wear, we don't usually recommend for 24/7 wear with the intricate gold hinges to the lever backs. They are still firm with tension to hold closed, although sometimes you have to guide them a bit to get the ear post to nest into the curve of the lever back (see pics). Having said that, I think it would take some doing for them to come free from the ear as they do have springy tension to remain closed. Amazing coloring, these are so elegant and lovely. : )

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
