The Story
I am selling an assortment of vintage to antique jewelry and rings which I have hunted for and gathered from around the world. Some examples seen in the last photo - thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
Back from my latest inventory trip to Bavaria & the Czech Republic. Mr. Mouse and I were there for a sourcing trip but also for a bit of time to get into the Christmas spirit, as visiting the Christmas markets of the various cities has always been on my bucket list. Checkmark! ; )
Antique halo settings are always very popular in my shop and these earrings have a little something extra with the floral scallop dangles and leaf details. Set with natural rubies and rose cut diamonds, they are sturdy and eye catching with beautiful color and sparkle.
The rubies are natural and the diamonds are mostly all old single cuts with the center stones being transitional cuts. While they are very Victorian in look, the transitional cut diamonds put them later into the Art Deco period. One ruby is missing but I didn't find it super glaring so I decided to sell them as is since the halos still appear mostly complete. The ear wires have a hook at the back to serve as a catch.
No hallmarks remain but - These come with a certificate from the assay office in the Czech Republic where the metal was tested and verified to be 333 (which 9k) for the ear wires, 585 (which is 14k) for the floral dangles and topped in 925 sterling silver. We often see these numerical hallmarks on European pieces where a three digit number is used to represent the parts per thousand of gold (14k being 585, etc.). The certificate is typed in Czech but I use google translate and the numerical details are clear as well.
This fabrication was customary for the antique period to have pieces crafted in yellow gold, but the settings topped in silver, platinum or white gold as it was thought to better accent the diamonds. The certificate has no info on the stones or age, etc. but still a very fun provenance to have the certificate with them, typed in Czech, stamped and signed to verify their authenticity and origin.
Please note the detailed measurements that I always provide, as I have small fingers and it can be difficult to determine scale from pictures where I am required to show zoomed in detail.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
They measure about 39mm top to bottom from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the halo. The halos are 15mm in diameter.
This pair of earrings weighs 7.75 grams combined so a sturdy hand feel but not heavy enough to really drag down the ear I don't think.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Typical antique diamonds, they have some natural inclusions and plenty of various hues from warm to gray to pale yellow. They are small stones so it is not super glaring.
The bezels are a bit uneven from age and wear. One ruby is missing but I didn't find it super glaring so I decided to sell them as is. None of the other stones move.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )

Please feel free watch @mouseshouseantiques on Instagram for inventory drops, sneak peaks and previews! And check out my website www.MousesHouseAntiques.com as I can add more pics there so you can get extra looks : )
All items hand picked by me, one at a time from all over the world. All listings individually written by me, and not AI, after studying each piece to discuss its beauties and its ; ) eccentricities (which I am picky to point out).
Many of my listings include group shots – I find the comparisons between pieces help show scale, diamond hues, etc. All items in group shots are inventory, but refer to the website to see what items have sold out and to watch for new listings from the grouping to appear on the home page.
