STAR Large Cutout Figural Creole Hoop Earrings French 18k Gold Vintage Chunky Retro Celestial

Awesome French vintage earrings in rich 18k gold with. These are nice and chunky with an eye catching size and fun detail - the open work STAR cutouts on the front and back of each hoop. Please note the measurements, please note the measurements, please please please please please note the measurements (said to a cheerful children's melody sung with my 3 year old niece ; ).

The earrings have a hinged ear wire with hooked end that are inserted from the back of the ear and slotted into the opening of the opposite end.

Antique box and props. Again please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos where I am required to show zoomed in photos for detail. Some of my buyers draw them out.

Found in France with their hallmark for 18k gold on one of the earwigs.

MEASUREMENTS:
32mm from the top of the earwire to the bottom. 124mm front to back. The curved gold depth of the hoops that are stamped with the stars are 8.6mm at the largest. Combined weight is 3 grams so while they have a nice coverage, they don't have a super heavy hand feel, having been made with a thick sheet of 18k gold that is curved and can flex a bit when pressure is applied.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
The catches function very well but they do have signs of age and preowned wear. There are shallow dings to the back of both of them, up near the hinges and the front sides where they clip in also show signs of wear, although the front sides are more of a ripple here or there. You can see wear to the stars as well that are slightly softened in form. The hinges are not tight in that they can move side to side while open so for that reason they need a gentle hand, but once they are clipped into place they are clipped sturdily and never open on their own without again applying pressure as the tension of the ear wire clips it into place. Sold as is - still a fun form!

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
